Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) consists of group therapy lasting up to three hours per day, offered Monday – Friday. Group therapy can consist of processing groups, educational groups, and traditional “talk therapy” groups. Clients are allowed to participate to any level they prefer including sharing personal information. Group therapy is highly effective as other group members provide insight, along with the clinician in the group. At Life of Purpose, IOP clients will also receive one hour of individual therapy with their primary therapist and one hour of individual case management with their assigned case manager. The goal of IOP is to provide a structured therapeutic environment while the person is becoming re-acclimated to their life after receiving in-patient treatment. Generally, the duration of IOP is for 6 to 8 weeks but can vary depending on the personal issues of the client. After the completion of IOP, clients are referred to our Aftercare level of care.
Aftercare occurs once the individual has successfully completed IOP and is ready for less frequent therapeutic interventions. Aftercare allows the client to engage in their daily routine, practicing the necessary coping skills learned in IOP, and having the opportunity to meet with their therapist and case manager weekly. Along with these two sessions, aftercare clients participate in one group therapy session a week. Their participation not only furthers their growth but also helps clients who are new to the program.
One of the unique aspects of our program here at Life of Purpose Middle Tennessee is the case management that we offer. All of the case managers at Life of Purpose are highly educated and well experienced in the field. The company is academically focused, and therefore one of the primary goals of each case manager is determining where a client is academically so we can assist them with moving forward. Once our case managers determine where a client is academically, the next step is determining where a client wants to go on their academic journey. We provide help getting clients into Motlow Community college, Middle Tennessee State University, and all Trade Schools in the area. Our team of Case managers has formed relationships with every university and trade school in the area and knows exactly how to navigate the admissions process at each school.
Our team is also well experienced when it comes to dealing with Legal issues. We work very closely with our client’s legal representation in providing as much paperwork and documentation as possible, to help show the court that our clients are doing everything they can to prevent themselves from ever facing legal troubles again. Our company is dedicated to helping young adults suffering from substance use disorders out of jail and ensuring they get the help that they truly need.
Another aspect of the field that our case management team is highly trained in is the job market. Our team of case managers is highly experienced when it comes to creating resumes, filling out applications and determining the best jobs suited for each of our individual clients.
Student Recovery Residences
Our program offers housing for young adults, both male and female, who are looking for an environment that is going to be conducive to their recovery. Our student recovery residences are located a quarter mile from MTSU campus, this allows our clients the ability to walk or ride their bikes to school. For those clients who are attending school further away, we provide transportation to and from school every day of the week. The student recovery residences also give our staff the ability to monitor our clients’ progress even when they are not at our clinical building. Our staff at the student recovery Residences work directly with our clinical team to consistently update them on our clients’ progress.
