Christopher O’Shea Joins Life of Purpose

Life of Purpose Treatment is pleased to announce the newest member of its clinical outreach team, Christopher O’Shea. After spending the last 18 months traveling and visiting treatment centers across the country, he now joins Life of Purpose as Clinical Outreach Coordinator.

Chris has a long history of advocacy for substance use disorder and mental health treatment. He tirelessly worked to create The Clay Hunt SAV (Suicide Prevention) Act, which on February 12, 2015, was signed into law by President Obama. He is a CCAR Recovery Coach Certified Trainer and a member of Treatment Professionals in Alumni Services. Chris has participated in the Action Intervention Training and Southworth Intervention Training workshops. In addition, he is the founder of Family Recovery Advocates as well as the co-founder of Trusted Provider Network.

“It is with great excitement we welcome Christopher O’Shea to Life of Purpose. His passion for helping young adults find and sustain recovery is palpable to those around him,” said Andrew Burki, Life of Purpose Treatment CEO and Founder.

As Clinical Outreach Coordinator, Chris will promote Life of Purpose’s mission to help emerging adults find treatment while furthering their education. He will also be responsible for developing and maintaining referent relationships on a national level. Chris will work closely with the admissions and clinical departments to better serve referents and clients in their care.

“After traveling the country learning about and training at over 100 programs nationally, Life of Purpose’s innovative treatment model and Andrew Burki stood out as change-agents that I had hoped to work with,” said O’Shea. “Their commitment to recovery advocacy, research, and to helping young adults find purpose in life is unparalleled.”

Chris has been a person in long-term recovery since November 19, 1998, and tirelessly carries the message of hope. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont and is pursuing his Master of Social Work at Louisiana State University.
